I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for United Way ads. This one was posted today by the United Way of Central Minnesota, profiling the Arise program, in which adult mentors work with children with disabilities.

It's a good antidote to the notion that we're a people increasingly at war with ourselves.

Thanks for this post, Bob. I'm also a sucker for United Way ads.

This story is interesting when juxtaposed against your "Parenting by Proxy" piece from this morning. A parent like Meagan's mom who is excited to watch her daughter play T-Ball. It's about priorities. It appears Meagan's mom has her's straight.

I'm glad there are organizations like the Arise program to help families who want and need their services. Kudos to them.
