The NBA has fined Timberwolves' General Manager David Kahn and the organization $50,000 each for remarks Kahn made about recently-acquired forward Michael Beasley.

Kahn was on 1500 ESPN Thursday saying:

"He's a very young and immature kid who smoked too much marijuana and has told me that he's not smoking anymore and I told him that I would trust him as long as that was the case."

Kahn's comments were apparently a violation of the NBA's collective bargaining agreement [pdf] prohibiting comments "regarding the use, possession, or distribution of a Prohibited Substance by a player."
