The burden of fame

What is it about actors who become singers and then go on talk shows and act like jerks?

On the CBC's Q TV with Jian Ghomeshi yesterday, Billy Bob Thorton channeled Joaquin Phoenix.

Update 5:28 p.m. - The Current's Mary Lucia told me, "there are too many of them to count," when I asked her about actors turned band members who are difficult interviews. But on the question of interviews in which the host would like to grab the guest by the scruff of the neck, she mentioned this one.

Wow, Billy Bob's Canadian bacon didn't agree with him -- or the coffee there has no caffeine! A bad mood is one thing but why torture the host?!

What is he on? There has to be some drug influence, or a developing psychiatric condition or just..... WTF?

@Jay H: If BBT couldn't find coffee with caffeine, he obviously didn't go to Tim Hortons! :-)

But seriously, I feel bad for the other members of the band, who seemed willing to talk and were probably happy to be on that show.

They should really boot Billy Bob from the band. While the blend of hillbilly music and British Invasion music sounds interesting, it's not like it would be hard to find a replacement drummer for that style. The Boxcutters could walk into any suburban Guitar Center location and walk out with at least three solid candidates.
