For my money, this was the most fascinating five minutes of video I've seen this year. Watch the body language as David Letterman turns the screws on Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
What's being said unsaid?
I am by no means a paralinguist, but surely you come away with some kind of conclusion watching Blago talk about his impeachment.
Wow. Blagojevich looked very fidgety. He looked like a small child nervously trying to lie their way out of trouble.
He also never ceases to amaze me with his hunger for media attention. When he was impeached and removed from office he asked if the media if they were still going to follow him; he was almost begging to have the media keep their attention on him. In this interview, the first thing he brings up is that he wanted to be on Dave's show, almost at any price (I think only somewhat jokingly).
I think Dave said it best:
"The more you talked, the more you repeated your innocence, the more I said to myself - This guy's guilty."
I say, let's move on. Blago is clearly a pathetic, self-delusional dude, and is already yesterday's news.
But given our sick political/infotainment culture, I'm sure he'll land on his feet and get a nice six- or seven-figure gig somewhere.
We don't need Tim Roth from that new show "Lie to Me" to tell us that he's on the hot seat (can barely sit down!).

Yes, and he'll probably "forget" to pay the taxes on six- or seven-figure gig too!
Hey, the guy did what it takes to get on The View and The Late Show with David Letterman.
Wonder what he has to do to get on Leno.
"So why not wait 'til the appropriate time?"
"I have a 12 year old and a 5 year old, and they're hearing things about their dad that aren't true."
He's been studying the master:

pete,
The funny thing about Nixon's "Checkers" speech was that he was only accused of recieving a "gift" of $18,000. A hell of a lot less than the Obama's got from convicted influence peddler and Blagojevich buddy, Tony Rezko.
Odd how the press was all over Nixon, yet were all over covering up for Obama.
Same with the Kennedy's.
The Watergate "plumbers" were named after an infamous Kennedy team.
