The Count

Basically, it comes down to this...

Or this, but I'm having trouble deciding whether Coleman : Franken :: The Count : Cookie Monster.

Maybe it's the other way around.

Ha, ha. Cute one Bob!

Regarding the recount--I just heard Tom Scheck's blurb during the national news update at noon, and I wonder what you think of his inclusion of "Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, a Democrat." Is his party affiliation something that needs mentioning?

Ooops, sorry Than! I am also interested in your opinion. =)

I think what we're really missing is a bald guy who can bark really gruffly to be in charge. That, and the previous NewsCut, "We're crazier than you think".

(It's the winters. It's always the winters.)

Heh, how about, "Mark Ritchie, not affiliated in any way with the Franken campaign other than being a Democrat" (well, I presume...). Certainly less of an issue than Florida in 2000 where Katherine Harris was co-chair of Bush's campaign in the state.

Along those lines, I wonder if there's a law that the Secretary of State shouldn't be involved in other candidates' campaigns. But then, would it make it hard for endorsements to go in the other direction?

Ack, I'm too busy at work to philosophize on that at the moment ;-)

@Jen - I went straight to the horse's boss, Political Editor Mike Mulcahy. He said, "It needs mentioning because a) it's a fact and b) the Coleman campaign has made an issue of it."

"the next generation" will not have a chance to
' make it so' if we re elect the same officials who "make it impossible"
