Gov. Pawlenty and Mayor Rybak announced the official I-35W bridge anniversary events today:
Interfaith Prayer and Memorial Service

not looking foward to August, still haven't really come to grips with the first time around yet.
Wait... what? Wow. It strikes me as bizarre that they would throw a *prayer service* in for the anniversary of the bridge collapse. I don't care if it's "interfaith". What does faith have to do with it anyway? Sure, it was a catastrophe and people died, but if the families of the victims need to have a special unofficial memorial service, they're certainly free to do that on their own.
