Are you addicted to your computer?

For the sake of the future of the little children on the News Cut staff (OK, there aren't any little children and there isn't any News Cut staff, but let's just pretend.), I certainly hope so.
This question, in particular, creeps me out:
How often do you prefer the excitement of the Internet to intimacy with your partner?
and so does this one:
How often do you block out disturbing thoughts about your life with soothing thoughts of the Internet?
Soothing thoughts of the Internet? Oh, bandwidth, you gorgeous bandwidth! Reveal to me the underlying source code of this page. Yes. Yes. Oh, yes.
Full disclosure: I scored a 30. Which means, "You are an average on-line user. You may surf the Web a bit too long at times, but you have control over your usage."

Just took the quiz and got a 26. What's the difference between "frequently" and "often"? Why isn't there a "never"? Is that what "does not apply" is supposed to be? I would view "does not apply" as meaning the situation could not happen versus does not happen.
Anyway, if I'd been able to answer "never" instead of "rarely", I'd probably have had a miniscule score. I suspect the same would be true for many people in the "average" range.

ME TOO. ACTUALLY BOB THIS IS THE ONLY BLOG I HAVE BEEN READING FOR THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS.
You are an average on-line user. You may surf the Web a bit too long at times, but you have control over your usage.

My favorite part of the quiz is the link on the left side to the Internet Addiction support group... which is, of course, on the Internet.

@ Sarah-
I have often wondered about that type of thing...like SAA. Sex Addicts Annonymous. I have wondered if sex addicts just go there to find potential partners?

I wondered about the "never" part, too... especially on the "thinking of your Internet more than your spouse" question. Then I realized that "does not apply" is the "never"... which, just for the record, was my answer to that particular question.

Ditto on the "never" thing. I, too, wanted to answer "never" to a lot of questions. Got a 24. And I go online only once or twice a week.
