Listen

Monday: The Mugwumps, "An Historic Recording" (1967)
Zal Yanovsky (The Lovin Spoonful), Mama Cass and Denny Doherty (The Mamas and the Papas) and folk singer Jim Hendricks were The Mugwumps. The record was finally released when they picked up popularity from the groups they would later join.

Tuesday: Ted Nugent, "Ted Nugent" (1975)
We had to play "Stranglehold" to celebrate the Motor City Madman's birthday. It's actually the law that we do so.

Wednesday: The Friends of Distinction "Highly Distinct" (1969)
The debut album from this group in 1969 was "Grazin" with the hit song "Grazin in the Grass." The Friends of Distiction released a second record that year, "Highly Distinct," but it didn't have the hit song to drive it up the charts.

Thursday: Death, "...For the World to See" (2009)
These recordings sat on the shelf since the mid 70's. The Detroit rock trio Death were on the verve on a major label record deal back then, but it fell through. In 2009 their songs were released as "...For the World to See." The album ROCKS.

Friday: The Moody Blues, "In Search of The Lost Chord" (1968)
A favorite album of Steve's, this is prog rock at it's finest. We played "Legend of a Mind," a song about 60's LSD icon Timothy Leary.
