Thirty-three years on from its original release, the re-mastered, expanded, Super-Deluxe edition of Some Girls by The Rolling Stones shows why the 1978 album has often been hailed as the equal of Exile On Main Street. Some Girls is both a time capsule and a timeless listen. It features the band at their tightest and toughest, at their most vibrant and vital. It's an all-killer, no-filler, must-have album. It still packs a punch.
To celebrate, from November 21 through December 2, The Current is giving away copies of the Super-Deluxe, 2-CD Reissue of Rolling Stones' Some Girls. We'll be giving away five sets on-air and five sets online.
One lucky online winner will get the Super-Deluxe Box Set Reissue plus DVDs from the Ed Sullivan Show. Check out a preview clip below.

My dad did me the great favor of introducing me to the Rolling Stones. I am so happy that he did. I don't know if I could live without "Far away eyes."
HUGE Stones fan and one of the top 5 live concerts I've ever witnessed. I love Some Girls it's a great album.
My all time favorite Stones album!
Im In Love With All Their Music!
I got that album when it came out; lost it (and many others) in a move a few years ago. My oldest daughter has discovered and downloaded some of the music from Some Girls. It sounds new to her!
Love this album. Have memories of first discovering it as a kid while digging through my parents record collection!
My favorite Stones Album. A soundtrack for the summer of '78. I was at their show that summer at JFK in Philadelphia.
i actually bought 3 copies of this album when it came out, all with different colors (before they had to cover up the faces). This and "Tattoo You" are my fave Stones records. And to think I was on the Beatles side when i was a kid.
My older sister gave this album to me for Christmas when it first came out. It was the Rolling Stones album for my age, jus as Black and Blue was the album for her age. It seems like they put one out for every teenager along the way. I still have it!
My 25 year old son, Phil Joly, works at Electric Lady Studios in New York City. He worked on this project as an assistant over the summer. The album just came out this week and we were delighted to go online and see that our son's name actually made it into the production credits--right there with Don Was! Pretty cool, for a guy just a few years out of music school.
Years ago I had Some Girls but lost it in the shuffle of many moves. Gotta get it agian! I love the Stones and have seen them many times!
This is one of those albums that immediately takes me to a specific time & place. College years, ramshackle house that turned into the party house. And it wasn't a party without this album. The kitchen floor actually bounced a bit when people danced.
