Monday: The American Breed, "Bend Me, Shape Me" (1968)
The song "Bend Me, Shape Me" was the American Breed's biggest hit. It was first recorded by The Outsiders on their "In" record.
Tuesday: The Roland Shaw Orchestra, "Themes From The James Bond Thrillers" (1964)
Themes from Dr. No, From Russia With Love and Goldfinger, as performed by the Roland Shaw Orchestra.
Wednesday: Peter & Gordon, "True Love Ways" (1965)
Producer and record executive Peter Asher belonged to this duo before becoming the A&R guy for Apple. Not only did Paul McCartney date Peter Asher's sister (Jane), but he wrote a handful of songs for Peter & Gordon.
Thursday: Simon & Garfunkel, "Wednesday Morning 3AM" (1964/1966)Debut record from Simon & Garfunkel. It was a flop in 1964, but was rereleased in 1966 after the popularity of the overdubbed single version of "The Sound of Silence."
Friday: Dick Hyman, "Moog: The Electric Eclectics of Dick Hyman" (1969)
Jazz musician and composer Dick Hyman made this fantastic album with the Moog synthesizer. You might recognize parts of "The Moog and Me" used as a sample in Beck's song "Sissyneck" from the record Odelay. Or- if you're like Jill, you recognize that song from the movie Mask (starring Cher).
