Why would anyone chose to wake up at 4:00am and drive an hour to stand in toe numbing, nose running, teeth chattering weather for approximately four hours? Well, for tickets to Bon Iver it's worth the trip. Overnight host Lindsay Kimball, our marketing manager Matt Perkins and I made the trip to bring pastries, coffee and Current cheer to people waiting to pick up pre-sale tickets for a show at Junstin Vernon's hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin...and we weren't the only ones.
With nothing to do but wait around and huddle for warmth we started chatting up the people around us. We made out way to the front of the line to check out what time people had started forming a line and camping out. Most people had started to show up around 2:00am, but at the very front of the line there were three ladies that had been there since 3:00pm the day before.
Despite the cold and long wait everyone was still completely pumped to grab a couple of tickets while there were still a few left. See you December 12th, Bon Iver!
The concerts are sponsored by University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate and Volume One Magazine.
