The Next Big Thing this week is Los Angeles artist Mayer Hawthorne. His third studio album, How Do You Do, comes out October 11, 2011. Having grown up in Ann Arbor, MI, Mayer Hawthorne grew up immersed in Motown soul and jazz. The Motown feel is definitely present and alive in all of his music. If you're into funky white boys from the midwest you should definitely check him out.
