This week's Essential album is a pick from morning host Jill Riley. Her pick is The Gilded Palace of Sin, the 1969 album from The Flying Burrito Brothers. The album fuses country and folk with other mainstream music genres like folk, gospel, R&B and rock. The album was the first from The Flying Burrito Brothers and is considered to be a great influence on modern country-rock. The album continues to bear influence on artists such as Wilco, Elvis Costello, The Jayhawks and Lucinda Williams, as well as many others.
