Ray Charles was born on this day in 1930. He died June 11, 2004 in Los Angeles.

Ani Difranco is 41

John Coltrane was born in 1926 in Hamlet, North Carolina. Died in 1967.

Ben E. King is 73. (We were just informed that Ben E. King's birthday is actually Sept 28th, so we'll send him an early birthday wish)

Jerry Corbetta is 64. (Singer and keyboardist for hit '70s rock band Sugarloaf)

Anything by those artists is fine, but if the mission is to just select favorite songs, I would love to hear "Running With the Wolves" -- one of my favorites and appropriate for a guy sitting in a tiny cube on his BDAY
