Monday: Crazy Horse, "Loose" (1972)
Crazy Horse was best known as the backing band for Neil Young. They also put some records out on their own.

Tuesday: Flash And The Pan, "Flash And The Pan" (1979)
The debut record from the Australian studio-project duo of Harry Vanda and George Young (the latter the older brother of AC/DC's Angus Young). Steve played "Hey St. Peter".

Wednesday: The Everly Brothers, "Gone, Gone, Gone" (1964)
We played the original version of "Gone, Gone, Gone." You've probably heard the cover version by Robert Plant and Allison Krauss played on The Current. (Behind the scenes sidenote: This record was so warped that we were afraid it wouldn't play, but thankfully record players were designed to work around the concave shape of this album. Clearly the previous owner left it in a car on a hot day.)

Thursday: Wilson Pickett, "The Best of Wilson Pickett" (1967)
"Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" was originally recorded by Soloman Burke. It was covered by The Rolling Stones, Wilson Pickett and The Blues Brothers.

Friday: Santo & Johnny, "Santo & Johnny" (1959)
Brothers Santo and Johnny Farina were best known for their hit instrumental "Sleepwalk." Santo played steel guitar, Johnny played electric guitar.

I always enjoy the Random Vinyl segment, and not just because it motivates me to get out of bed by 6:30 am so I can listen to it.
