Monday: Neil Diamond, "Shilo" (1970)
This is a compilation album with a reworked (and much better) version of "Shilo."
Tuesday: The Beatles, "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" (1977)
You won't find many proper "live" albums from The Beatles. This collection was recorded at the Hollywood Bowl in August 1964 and August 1965. The tapes sat on the shelves until the 70's, when George Martin was given the task of cleaning up the recordings and mixing them.
Wednesday: The Stooges, "The Weirdness" (2007)
This record certainly doesn't have the raw power that The Stooges' early work did, but it was cool hear the boys back together and record new original material. Iggy Pop, Ron Asheton (died in 2009) and Scott Asheton are present from the original lineup, along with Mike Watt on bass and Steve Albini in the producer's chair.
Thursday: Harry Belafonte, "Pure Gold" (1975)
Also known as the "King of Calypso." We heard "Jump in the Line," recorded by Belafonte in 1961, also included on this compilation of greatest hits.
Friday: Simon and Garfunkel, "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme" (1966)
"The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin Groovy)" seemed like the best choice to start a sunny Friday morning.
