Today's 9:30 Coffee Break topic was suggested by Teenage Kicks host Jacquie Fuller: songs about shapes. Circles, squares, triangles ... can you think of any oval or parallelogram songs? We can't, but it you can, we'd love to hear your ideas.

Songs played:
Soul Coughing "Circles"
The Waitresses "Square Pegs"
New Order "Bizarre Love Triangle"
The Cyrkle "Red Rubber Ball"
Weezer "Pink Triangle"
Black Diamonds "Black Diamonds and Pearls"

I love the song "Red Rubber Ball", but technically a ball isn't a shape, it's an object in the form of a sphere.

something by Dr. Octagon?

what about "girl shaped love drug" by gomez?

Posted by Andrew Simonson | May 18, 2011 9:48 AM

2 circle songs and 2 triangle songs.
1 square and 1 diamond.
There are som any other shapes suggested in this topic and you chose these.
Lack of imagination anyone?
That's why ppl get mad at you guys.
You suggest something cool and it doesn't get played because???

Posted by Shenandoah | May 18, 2011 9:53 AM

it seems you may be prejudiced against they might be giants? there are often suggestions of their songs (since they have a song for just as many topics as the beatles) by many people and you rarely play them. more tmbg!!!!

Posted by beth | May 18, 2011 9:56 AM

You guys BLOW!!!!!

Posted by Roman | May 18, 2011 9:56 AM

Correct the difference between a shape and a form is that shapes are 2D and forms are 3D. Thanks for playing great music my students think I'm a little strange but its great that they are being exposed to quality eclectic mix of music! Thanks 89.3!
