Monday: Mama Cass, "Dream a Little Dream" (1968)

Cass Elliot's first solo record, just after the breakup of The Mamas and the Papas. The album was produced by John Simon, chosen by Cass because she liked his work with The Band. Musicians featured on the recorded included John Sebastian (The Lovin' Spoonful) and Stephen Stills (credited as Steve Stills).

Tuesday: Buddy Holly/The Crickets, "20 Golden Greats" (1978)

Why release a Buddy Holly "best of" record in the late 70's? Most likely it was due to the fact The Buddy Holly Story (starring Gary Busey) revived his music for some, and introduced a new generation to his music.

Wednesday: The Cars, "The Cars" (1978)

File this under "great debut albums." Every song is a classic, including "Good Times Roll," My Best Friend's Girl," and "Movie in Stereo." The Current Morning Show just had to give it a spin after they saw The Cars live at First Avenue.

Thursday: Paul Revere & The Raiders, "Hard 'N' Heavy (With Marshmallow) (1969)

Paul Revere and Mark Lindsay welcomed some new band members to make this record (Paul Revere & The Raiders had a lot of lineup changes over the years). This album is much poppier than some of their mid 60's garage rock.

Friday: The House Of Love, "The House Of Love" (1990)

Guest co-host Jacquie Fuller was quite proud to bring in her latest eBay acquisition, a pristine copy of one of her favorite albums of the era. We played "Shine On."
