"I was excited to be able to debut three brand new songs for the audience at Wits," said Craig Finn. "I really appreciated the thought and energy the band put into making the songs come to life."

"The Wits program is a way for listeners to connect with some of the greatest storytellers and musical artists of our time," says program director Jim McGuinn.

I am absolutely IN LOVE with this recording. I'm a huge Hold Steady/Craig Finn fan, but here he totally nails it unlike any other song I've heard him do before. I'm so grateful for The Current putting on this Wits program to give Craig a chance to share this song, but I really really REALLY hope it ends up on an album. This song is beautiful, absolute perfection. Too good to be so exclusive (though I get a lot of satisfaction in sharing this song with other people, guaranteeing them that it's a Craig Finn song they've definitely never heard before)!

But for now, thanks so much for providing the video and audio recordings. I've been listening to them constantly.

Very nice. Seems like maybe Craig's working on his singing. I love the Hold Steady, but every time I've seen them live Craig basically talks (shouts? barks?) out the lyrics to the songs rather than actually carrying a tune. I know he's no crooner, but somehow he manages to sing in the studio.

Craig Finn is one of the most talented musicians i've had the pleasure of coming across/seeing live. He's got a place in my soul
