Block Rockin' Weekend!

Posted at 11:54 AM on May 27, 2011 by The Current (7 Comments)

Starting this Friday at 4:00 p.m. and continuing through Memorial Day, The Current will bring you Block Rockin' Weekend. We'll be playing three-song sets of all of your (and our) favorite artists all weekend, and we'll even be having special Block Rockin' editions of your favorite weekend programming. That's right, In the Studio, Teenage Kicks, Radio Free Current, United States of Americana and The Local Show will all follow the Block Rockin' Weekend format.

However, 72 hours is a pretty long time, so we're going to need some help from Current listeners to fill all of the slots. So if you're listening this weekend, make sure to check out our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter so that you can vote for the songs you want to hear all weekend long. Hope you enjoy our weekend programming! Happy Memorial Day!

Here's how it'll go down. Around the top of each hour, the on-air host will name the band whose set we're looking to complete. You can let us know what you want to hear by emailing or calling in (651 989 4893); or use Twitter or Facebook to let us know what you want to hear.

One of the Wilco songs MUST be "She's a Jar". :)
