Tuesday: The Sunshine Company, "Happy is The Sunshine Company" (1967)
L.A. 60's sunshine pop at it's best. They were the first group to record "Up, Up and Away," but the 5th Dimension actually scored the hit with their version. The band was only together for a few years, proving Jill's theory that no one can be THAT happy for an extended amount of time.
Wednesday: Genesis, "Invisible Touch" (1986)
If you're more of a fan of the Peter Gabriel era, this probably isn't your favorite Genesis album. 80's Genesis was all about Phil Collins. We realized listening to "Land of Confusion" just isn't the same without music video it's famous for. Phil Collins was terrifying as a puppet.
Thursday: The Byrds, "Younger Than Yesterday" (1967)
The Byrds were really darn good at covering Bob Dylan. "My Back Pages" was the inspiration for the title of this record.
Friday: The Sex Pistols, "Never Mind the Bollocks" (1977)
In honor of the Royal Wedding, we played "God Save the Queen." A little something for the "commoners."
