Gregg Gillis aka Girl Talk


Gregg Gillis is one of the nicest tissue engineers you could ever meet. He also knows how to make 30 songs blend together in a way that not only takes the originals to a whole new place, but also makes you want to dance all night long.

Under the moniker of Girl Talk, Gregg has been touring across the world bringing his mash-ups and party atmosphere with him. He played two nights of sold out shows at First Ave, and took some time to sit down with me. We chatted about what actually is happening on stage during a show, what he thinks makes for a great mash-up and his love for a certain 80's band. Check out Girl Talk's playlist below.

I have listened to Girl Talk before, but I am not sure the other listeners will get what his art is. He is so artistic. Have him mix some songs extreme songs so people get this. I love that you have him on tonight. I am having my kids listening to it. My 10 year old thinks it cool how you mix/overlap the music.

I love that he played the "Make it Rain" song. It's as catchy as it is obscene.
