Monday: Journey, "Look Into The Future" (1976)
We're quite certain that when Journey tried to look into the future, they never would've guessed how the band would evolve with the addition of Steve Perry. This album was pre-Steve Perry, and still had more of a rock/jam/progressive rock vibe. Who knew Journey once covered The Beatles?
Tuesday: Cream, "Live Cream" (1970)
Some British blues rock from Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. This album was recorded live in various places around the U.S. We played "Rollin' and Tumblin," recorded live in San Fransisco at The Fillmore in 1968.
Wednesday: Japan, "Tin Drum" (1981)
In honor of the the late Mick Karn, the band's innovative bass player who passed away this week at the age of 52 of cancer, we played "Talking Drum."
Thursday: The Hollies, "Romany" (1972)
This album was the first to not feature lead singer Allan Clarke, as he had left the band for a solo career. You'll know this record by the wintery scene on the cover.
Friday: Billy Strange with the Mexicana Brass "In the Mexican Bag"
Billy Strange was a songwriter (cowrote "A Little Less Conversation"), producer, guitar player (played on Pet Sounds), actor, man of all trades. One of his best known arrangements was of his own instrumental version of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin."
