We've done "whispering" as a topic before on the 9:30 Coffee Break, but we're not sure if we've ever put together a set of songs featuring heavy breathing. It occured to us this morning that there seem to be a number of songs out there that feature panting and breathing - often in time with the beat of the song, although not always. Can you think of any? That's your assignment for the Coffee Break today.
Songs played:
Prince, "Let's Go Crazy"
Rilo Kiley, "Portions For Foxes"
Communist Daugher, "Not The Kid"
Tone Loc, "Funky Cold Medina"
Kraftwerk, "Elektro- Kardiogramm"
Another excuse to play Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin!
Portions for Foxes -- Rilo Kiley
Heavy Breathing -- Bee Gees
Breathe Me - Sia
Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus
Martin Gore heavy-breathing solo!
The first song that comes to mind? Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode.
Lets Go Crazy - Prince ("Hhhhh, Hhhhh is all I heard")
Tour de France -- Kraftwerk
Communist Daughter - Not the Kid
Sounds like there is short heavy breaths with the chorus.
Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Bret Michaels takes a deep breath right at the beginning.
Stay Don't Go: Spoon
or anything by Fugiya and Miyagi
Push It - Salt n' Pepa
For the regular Beatle song - I pick:
Girl
John's intake of air during the chorus - count as heavy breathing?
Cracker - 100 Flower Power Maximum
Spooon: Stay Don't Go
Fugiya and Miyagi: is there any song where they are not breathing heavy?
Jungle Fever by The Chakachas
Mother by Pink Floyd
Breath in, Breath out by kanye west and ludacris
The Shot Heard 'Round The World - Boys Like Girls
Muse - time is running out.
"Girl" Beatles
"Young Lust" Pink Floyd
Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers "I'm So Confused". This is heavy sigh-breathing born of befuzzlement.
"Get Down, Make Love" -- Nine Inch Nails (covering Queen)
"Beat It" -- Michael Jackson
A day in the life - The Beatles
The Flaming Lips - Feeling yourself Disintegrate
Basic Space - The XX
How about "Time of the Season" by The Zombies?
The Color Wheel / Rogue Valley
(very end of the song)
Stay Don't Go: Spoon
Girl: The Beatles
And because I love the 90s, "Not an Addict" by K's Choice.
The Run Lola Run soundtrack has several songs that use Franka Potente breathing.
Sic transit Gloria- brand new
Jeff Buckley - Satisfied Mind
Mr. Blue Sky - ELO
"running down the avenue"
Fleetwood Mac- Big Love
Also,
Hello - Division Day
Sadeness Pt. 1 from Enigma
Sadeness Pt. 1 from Enigma
Donna Summer - Love to Love you Baby
