Former Replacements frontman (and local icon) Paul Westerberg is an ever-prolific songwriter. He may not have (yet) reached Robert Pollard or Frank Black's level, but he's still been a very busy guy over the last decade, releasing albums and EPs both under his own name and the Grandpaboy moniker. He's back with a new vinyl-only release, containing two new songs, "This Machine" and "Foolish Hand Shake", plus a download card for a bonus Grandpaboy song. You can read more about it & find ordering details at Westerberg's website.
The kicker? The release is being credited to "Mr. F", a mysterious new pseudonym that may or may not be related to an infamous gag from the third and final season of Arrested Development. Surely I can't be the only one who, when reading about this new release, can't help but hear "MISSSTAHH EFFFFF" ringing in my head. I am now hoping Bob Mould starts a new band called the Nevernudes.
Will I be able to listen to this record, or is it
FOR BRITISH EYES ONLY
??
Arrested Development could generate a lot of great band names:
Tobias and The Nevernudes
Buster and The Loose Seals
My Cousin Maeby
Hermano
Pop-pop in the Attic
Bob Lablaw's Law Blog
Hot Cornballer
Let's not forget, Annie Clark (St. Vincent) has gone on record saying that the title of her first album, Marry Me was a direct reference to AD.
