This morning our Queen of Cuisine Dara Moskowitz-Grumdahl stopped in for her regular Wednesday chat on the Morning Show, and this week, we discussed Heartland (now in its new location in downtown St. Paul). Dara talked about it from two angles: what it is physicaly ("huge, a farm, and a market") and conceputually ("a utopian realization of a truly local cuisine").
I listened to the the story on Heartland this week with interest. Just two weeks ago I had taken a group of friends to Heartland. To a person we left unsatisfied and could not have been more disappointed with both the food and the service. Not one dish stood out. Some of the desserts were considered inedible by more than one person at the table.
I'd be very interested to hear the experiences of other listeners. As for myself, unless I become convinced that the staff had had a complete meltdown on the order of the Packer's loss to Chicago last weekend, I'm not likely to give Heartland a second chance.
