The re-appearance of Devo on the scene at this year's olympics has got us thinking about uniforms. Once upon a time, bands used to wear matching outfits onstage (think The Beatles ... or The Monkees, for that matter). These days, though, when bands wear matching clothes, it's usually a little more toungue in cheek. For today's 9:30 Coffee Break, help us think of some bands that wear coordinating getups.
When Morrissey was here last year, they all wore matching outfits.
Pretty obvious, but...
Devo-"Whip It."
Digital Love - Daft Punk
Pocket Calculator - Kraftwerk
Coldplay have been wearing uniforms lately
"Intergallactic"- The Beastie Boys
"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"- The Beatles
"God Gave Rock and Roll to You"- Kiss
Dresden Dolls had mime make-up,and The White Stripes have red, black, and white.
Weezer (and Paul Shaffer & The CBS Orchestra) all wore Snuggies when they performed "I'm Your Daddy" on the "Late Show with David Letterman" a few months ago.
Does that count?

How about:
Clinic - they all wear masks/surgical stuffs
The Hives - all black with white suspenders or red ties?
The White Stripes
Jackson 5
KISS
Beyonce's "band" before she went solo
Not exactly uniforms, but these groups tend to wear similarly themed outfits when they perform...
THE WHITE STRIPES
OF MONTREAL
KISS
Dude! STRYPER!!!!! To Hell With The Devil!!!
Groups that dressed the same would include:
The Beatles (The suits and Beatle Boots)
Beau Brummels
Paul Revere and the Raiders (sigh - Mark Lindsey)
The Monkees (Those double breasted buttoned shirts)
U2 wore uniforms for zooropa, and for onstage perfomances of Lemon and Numb. I saw Kimya Dawson at an REM tribute at Carngie in a crazy-ass costume, which her band had as well, covering World Leader Pretend.
jethro tull has a song called "uniform" it was their attempt at keeping up with the changing music scene of the 80's. it's on the album "A"
polyphonic spree
Johnny Cash and band in black shirts cuz it's the only matching color they all had... and any excuse to hear JC is a good one.
The Hives
The White Stripes
The Hopefuls
Man Or Astroman? (Who will be at SXSW! Yay!)
2 skinnee j's ! http://bit.ly/9uDsNn
The Partridge Family. Those velvet vest/pant combos were the tops!
The KLF; If only for the Adventures of Mu Mu Land.
red hot chili peppers - abbey road
