Today's My Three Songs comes from Maren Johnson of Minneapolis, who loves the name dropping in all three of these tunes. Come to think of it, I can totally hear some similarities between Art Brut's Eddie Argos and the Modern Lovers' Jonathan Richman.

how about songs that name-drop other bands? probably been done before, though.
Art Brut works for that too; then Wombats, "Let's Dance to Joy Division"; and LCD Soundsystem, "Daft Punk is Playing at My House". did i miss any obvious ones?
