With President Obama in China, we've got the all things Chinese on our minds today for the 9:30 Coffee Break. Make your suggestions for songs with the words china or chinese in the title below or here.
Lily Allen - Chinese
"Chinese" by Lily Allen
"China Girl" by David Bowie--a little obvious, but something to get the ball rolling...
China Grove - The Doobie Brothers.
Chinese Children by Devendra Banhart
You failed to realize on the album Chinese Democracy, there is a track titled Chinese Democracy. Mwahahahaa! But seriously, don’t play it.
China Grove – Doobie Brothers
A Chinese Actor - Califone
Doobie Brothers – China Grove
Grateful Dead – China Cat Sunflower
Leo Kottke – So Cold In China
Jimmy Buffett – Somewhere over China
Lilly Allen - Chinese
This doesn't have the word china in the title but for the theme I think its perfect!
Kung-Fu Fighting - Carl Douglas
My Mother Was A Chinese Trapese Artist - The Decemberists
China Girl - David Bowie
I know obvious but David Bowie rocks
My Mother Was A Chinese Trapeze Artist - The Decemberists
China Girl - David Bowie
Tori Amos - "China"
or you could actually play a chinese song. jay chou is taiwanese, but he's like the young michael jackson of the chinese speaking world. "cowboy on the run" is a song of his about being a cowboy (that drinks milk, because beer is bad for you). western culture from an other point of view for a change.
Going back to china -diesel
China town - the move
I know this won't get played, but I was gonna suggest China White by the Scorpions.
(Besides the obvious drug reference plus sounds like a wrestling entrance theme song)
Chinese Translation - M.Ward
"China" by Red Rockers. Off the "Good As Gold" Album.
Great early 80's new wave tune.
If you're going to play "China Girl," play the Iggy Pop version. Bowie is playing on it, and it's so much more intense than the "Let's Dance" version.
There's also "China" by the Red Rockers (a new wave hit), and "Seven Chinese Brothers" by REM.
Chinese Arithmetic by Eric B and Rakim off Paid in Full. Great throwback instrumental.
China Doll - Grateful Dead
