Ent schuldige bitte, (excuse me please) in my last post I used "music" in stead of "English"; so to revise: "Kein Englisch Freitag" is "No English Friday"--amazing how close German is to English? Well, English derives most directly from German.

Oh I have been waiting for something like this ;)
no english Friday would be "englischfreier Freitag" (basically Enlish-free Friday).
My suggestion: anything from Wir sind Helden such as Wenn es passiert or Gib mir ein Worr. Also beautiful Tocotronics Hi Freaks. Or of course Nena's 99 red balloons. ;)

I am a Minnesotan living in Vienna, Austria, and I was super excited to hear 'Kein Englisch Freitag'!
My vote- 'Die Zeit heilt alle Wunder' by Wir sind Helden
love you the current!

p.s. "No English Friday" in Chinese would be 星期五沒有英語 (shing chee oo (like the "o" in who) may yo ing yoo) (that's the closest I can get w/o using pin yin)

Italian would be "Venerdì senza inglese."

Posted by em | November 20, 2009 9:40 AM

Oh, and "Kein English Freitag" is a terrible butchering of the beautiful German language.

The correct syntax would be "Ohne English Freitag"

(I cheated and used WordMonkey translator)
