The hidden track "Endless" on Nirvana Nevermind...I think it's 13:51 on track 12 of the CD.

Euro Trash Girl - Cracker

Its a hidden track on Kerosene Hat, I'm not sure if it was released previous to that or released as a regular track on a later album.

Sarah McLaclan on her 1993 "fumbling toward ecstasy"
It seems that to this station Dave Mattews is the Devil but his first album has a very nice composision " #34" that is hidden by a 10 minute blank track.

Nirvana - "Verse Chorus Verse" -- hidden track on the original pressing of the No Alternative compilation CD.

Afghan Whigs - "Miles Iz Dead" from the Congregation album.

Jawbox - "Cornflake Girl" -- an excellent cover of Tori Amos' tune, hidden at the end of their final self-titled album.

P.O.S. - "Handmade Handguns" off the Never Better CD.

R.E.M. - "Superman"

Eurotrash Girl by Cracker.

Also, what about that song on the Honeydogs' Here's Luck? Chasing the Sun?

Posted by Dave | November 6, 2009 9:03 AM

A little obvious but "Her Majesty" cause it's the first hidden track ever.

Well, I was going for "Train in Vain" too, but wellst beat me to it. How about Imogene Heap's "I'm a Lonely Petunia (in an Onion Patch) from the Six Feet Under: Everything ends comp?

Atmosphere has my favorite hidden track of all time -- off Seven's Travels, after Always Coming Back Home to You... not sure of the title, Say Shhh (?) Anyway, we brought our daughter home from the hospital to that song. It's my personal Minneapolis anthem.

Wait, I thought of more.

Blue October (History For Sale) has a song after some silence. An acoustic "Calling You."

Cold War Kids (Robbers and Cowards) has a track "Sermon vs. The Gospel" at 7:something of the last track

Coldplay (X&Y) "Til Kingdom Come"

The Cure (Three Imaginary Boys) "The Weedy Burton" track 13

"My Second Album"

Was a fun lounge style hidden track on the end of Stone Temple Pilots second album.

Meatpuppets Lake of Fire on Too High to Die

Does this count?

Replacements - "If Only You Were Lonely"

Ah, hell with it; play it anyway!

What was the name of the hidden track at the end of Beck's "Mutations" album? According to Wikipedia, it's called "Diamond Bollocks" It's really great, and it makes sense as a hidden track because it doesn't really fit with the rest of the album.
Thank you to those of you who listed "Train in Vain," one of my favorite songs ever.

Wilco -- "Late Greats" from A Ghost is Born

Strictly speaking, it's not "hidden", but it definitely functions like a hidden track -- it comes at the end of the album after about 10 minutes of noise, and it's easy to miss. The opening lyric is even "The greatest lost track of all time".

How about that hidden track at the end of Green Day's "Dookie"?

I was alone...
I was all by myself...

Posted by Matthew | November 6, 2009 9:12 AM

Chasing the Sun is the last track on Here's Luck by the Honey Dogs. Not listed anywhere, but a fun song.

"Spiderman" - The Ramones (on "Adios Amigos")

lauryn hill - sweetest thing (miseducation)

I gotta go with a local pick.

I Wanna Drive the Zamboni - by the Gear Daddies hidden after the last track on Billy's Live Bait

Oh the memories - one of the very first CDs I ever purchased back in my freshman year of college at the U of M - from Positively 4th Street - a Dinkytown staple at the time no less. Back in the days when I listened to DJs like Mary Lucia and Mark Wheat on Rev105 and Modern Rock 104. ; P

Meat Puppets - Lake of Fire - Too High To Die
Cracker - Euro-trash Girl - Kerosene Hat (Track 69)
Alanis Morrisette - Forgive Me, Love - Jagged Little Pill (buried on Track 13)
Live - Horses in my Head (?) - Throwing Copper (last track or buried, can't recall)

Meat Puppets - Lake of Fire

I forgot about that one. That one got very popular after Nirvana covered it on the unplugged album.

Mindy Smith and Dolly Parton duet of Jolene on Mindy's One moment more

Posted by Justin | November 6, 2009 9:20 AM

I'd like to nominate The Clash's "Train In Vain".

Posted by Nels | November 6, 2009 9:20 AM

I know it's kind of annoying and a long shot, but the bug noise track at the end of Beck's "Mellow Gold" its a short one maybe you can fit it in.

Posted by Aaron | November 6, 2009 9:21 AM

Ben Folds Five:Whatever & Ever Amen. Not a hidden musical track but I did laugh hysterically when I left the CD playing way back in the day. Surprisingly, it's not on every CD.

Posted by Hans | November 6, 2009 9:22 AM

Wait...I can't believe no one has thought of this one. It's off of Atmosphere's Seven's Travels album called Always Coming Back Home to You or more specifically called "Say Shh!"... Duluth Minnesnowta!..

Mr. E's Beautiful Blues - EELS Daisies of our Galxy

Posted by Ryan | November 6, 2009 9:23 AM

Blue Flashing Light by Travis - from their The Man Who album.

Posted by Eric | November 6, 2009 9:24 AM

Alanis Morrisette - You Oughta Know (The Angry Girl Anthem version)

Some of my favorite hidden tracks in the last decade or so:

Hiding my Heart off of "The Story" by Brandi Carlile

Over my Shoulder off of "Life in Cartoon Motion" by Mika

Prague off of "O" by Damien Rice

And although I'm sure it's probably too long to play on radio, I love the wine glass song off of "9" by Damien Rice.

Posted by Jennie | November 6, 2009 9:30 AM

Shhh - Great song. My kids love this song. Wasn't this the first song the current ever played?

Posted by Jason | November 6, 2009 9:49 AM

Nine Inch Nails Broken EP
I Love these two songs...

98. "Physical (originally by Adam Ant)"
99. "Suck (originally by Pigface, written by Martin Atkins, Paul Barker, Trent Reznor, Bill Rieflin)"

Chelsea by the Counting Crows Across A Wire CD

Guns N Roses Look at your Game Girl from The Spaghetti Incident. It also caused quite a ruckus when it came out regarding royalties for the song given that Charles Manson wrote it.

Wasted Kisses from Newpower Soul by the New Power Generation. Of course really a Prince recording.

Horse by Live from Throwing Copper

Todd Snider, Talking Seattle Grunge Blues from his first CD Songs for the Daily Planet. Summed up the whole "Seattle" thing at the time...

Too bad you didn't play the Nir vana hidden track off the No Alternative album, you know, since you're doing the whole flannel weekend. So weird since Steve Seel seems to know everything...
