40 years ago this weekend the epicenter of music was in a little town called Bethel, in upstate New York. Everybody gathered for 3 days of music & art and love & peace at Max Yazgur's farm. Tickets were $18...you got change back from a twenty for 3 days of music!
It changed many lives & I suppose there were plenty of attendees couldn't wait to get the heck out of there as it was a stormy weekend with lots of rain. The festival lacked food and facilities but didn't lack mud. Ultimately Woodstock lives on as does the music. We'll hear some of the artists who performed between 9am and 3pm today.
