We all went a little crazy on the Decemberists.

We are still floating on a bit of a cloud here in the aftermath of Rock the Garden. With an indescribably perfect day, a gorgeous sunset, a scenic setting and lots of amazing music, the elements came together in a way that just seemed.... magical. Solid Gold lived up to their name and started the party off right. Yeasayer delivered infectious rhythms custom-made for a hot summer afternoon. Calexico made us feel like we were baking in the sunlight of the American Southwest. And then the Decemberists unleashed the full power of their orchestral sound just as the sun set behind the Minneapolis skyline. As if their top-to-bottom performance of "The Hazards of Love" wasn't enough, they gifted us with this:

Look for more videos and photographs soon, and tune in for Mark Wheat's recap show at 4:30 on Sunday. You can also see photos from the day's event on our Flickr page.

Thanks to everyone who came out. We hope to capture that lightening in a bottle again next year.

Can we get Shara Worden back to play next year? She was undoubtedly the highlight of the concert for me.

I agree. My Brightest Diamond would be a fantastic addition. Thanks for posting the video!

No doubt, how about Shara and My Brightest Diamond next year?

Sick. I love this song.

My Brightest Diamond have always sounded a little sleepy on record, but she shines when she gets a chance to let loose (like on this, and The Hazards of Love's "Repaid." I have overlooked her for too long.

I always knew her voice was powerful (she was an opera singer afterall), but the last couple lines of "Repaid" were goosebump inducing.

I was also quite impressed with Becky Stark during "Crazy on You". Her part in Hazards of Love doesn't let her shine as much as Shara's part, but she hung right with her on the cover.

Thanks for posting this - too much fun to relive. Talk about a face-melting vocal performance! I feel sorry for the foolish people who left early.

I can't believe I missed this. It was my birthday, I should have gotten in for free.

This was the perfect end to a fabulous night! I agree with Craig on the "Repaid" comment. Goosebumps! Awesome.
