"Misfits and Mistakes" is a Superchunk tune that was originally released as a hidden track to the Aqua Teen Hunger Force soundtrack. It was also released as a 7" shortly thereafter. The tune was recently included on their Leaves In The Gutter EP and you can grab "Misfits and Mistakes" for free today on our Song Of The Day podcast.
The Leaves In The Gutter EP is Superchunk's first CD release in 7 years. It also features an acoustic version of "Learned to Surf" and 3 previously unreleased tunes.
Superchunk recently announced that they will be releasing a limited edition 7" on clear vinyl, on July 7th. Pre-order it here.
They have a couple of scheduled appearances next month, as well. On the 17th they will be playing for free at The Seaport Music Festival in Brooklyn. On the 22nd, they will be playing the Merge Records 20th anniversary showcase in Chapel Hill, NC.
If you're a new subscriber to the Song Of The Day podcast, you'll also receive new music from Steve Earle, Maria Isa and Illinois. Later this week we will be featuring new music from Akron Family, John Vanderslice and local music from The Alarmists.
