1973 - During a Lou Reed show in Buffalo, New York, a fan jumped on stage and bit Lou on the buttocks.
1973 - Alice Cooper went to No.1 on the US album chart with 'Billion Dollar Babies.'
1992 - A Chicago court settled the Milli Vanilli class action suit by approving cash rebates of up to $3 to anyone proving they bought the group's music before November 27 1990, the date the lip synching scandal broke.
Nick Lowe turns 60 today - born this date in 1949 in Walton-on-Thames, England. Lowe is considered a significant figure in UK pub rock, punk rock and new wave, with a number of well-reviewed solo albums to his credit. He is best known for his songs "Cruel to Be Kind," "I Love The Sound of Breaking Glass," and "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding," which became a major hit for Elvis Costello. Lowe also worked as a house producer for the Stiff records label, where he recorded many notable records for the likes of Elvis Costello, The Damned, and The Pretenders.
