1988 - The Beatles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
1982 - Ozzy Osbourne bit the head off an unconscious bat (thinking it was one of his rubber fakes), thrown onto the stage by an audience member. He was taken to hospital to be given a rabies injection.
1981 - Nathan Connolly (Snow Patrol) was born.
1969 - Nicholas Allen Jones (Manic Street Preachers) was born.
1950 - Paul Stanley (Kiss) was born.
1942 - Billy Powell (The O'Jays) was born.
