1946 - Cynthia Robinson (Sly & the Family Stone) was born.
1963 - Bob Dylan played a folk singer in the radio play The Madhouse of Castle Street.
1965 - Rob Zombie was born.
1970 - Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against the Machine) was born.
1974 - Steve Miller Band's "The Joker" was #1.
1991 - Johnny Paycheck ("Take This Job And Shove It") was released from an Ohio prison for shooting a tavern patron.
1995 - The Allman Brothers Band, Al Green, the late Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, Neil Young, The Orioles and the late Frank Zappa were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
1998 - The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, The Mamas & the Papas, Santana, Lloyd Price, Gene Vincent, Allen Toussaint and Jelly Roll Morton were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
2000 - Sharon Osbourne resigned as the manager for The Smashing Pumpkins stating "...I must resign today due to medical reasons. Billy Corgan was making me sick!"
2003 - Maurice Gibb of The Bee Gees died.
