1953 - Malcolm Young (AC/DC) was born.
1958 - Gibson launched the 'Flying V' electric guitar.
1977 - EMI Records dropped The Sex Pistols from their label/contract.
1979 - The Bee Gees had the #1 single "Too Much Heaven."
1986 - Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) was born.
2001 - Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour won the right to his dot com name which another man had registered and was using to sell Pink Floyd merchandise.
2006 - Lou Rawls died.
2007 - 'Sneaky' Pete Kleinow (Flying Burrito Brothers) died.

Jennifer Anitzberger's three song set is an ode to local musician Darren Jackson. She says "Darren's craft as a musician, songwriter and work in his recording studio, Shortman Studios, is extraordinary. He is the next Dan Wilson. I have picked one song from Darren's two bands and one song he recorded/produced in his studio."
