1938 - Cornell Gunter (The Coasters) was born.
1954 - "Shake Rattle And Roll" became Bill Haley's first single to become a top ten hit.
1966 - Joseph 'Run' Simmons (Run-DMC) was born.
1972 - Douglas Payne (Travis) was born.
1990 - Rob Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan (Milli Vanilli) were fired when they insisted on singing on their new album.
1995 - 3,000 Blur fans gathered for a signing at a bookstore and brought traffic in an area of central London to a standstill.
