"My 3 Songs" for Friday

"So much of what we hear today has lyrics of 'being lost'," says Kate McDonnell of Mpls. "Instead, these three songs sing about a progression toward becoming more fully human. I picked artists that are not only well known, but current ... a little bit of wisdom on the airwaves."

Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9) are playing a SOLD OUT show at First Ave on Saturday night. Their cosmic blend of jammy psychedelic tunage with a heavy dance music influence is a rare blend. On their recent 'Peaceblaster' they definitely upped the ante, big time! It's elegantly paced, as a true album should be, so we took a section out of the middle and created a DJ set from it;
