The Saturday Project

Posted at 11:35 AM on October 18, 2008 by Bill DeVille (1 Comments)

Kicked off a new feature a couple of Saturdays ago. Saturday seems to be the day many Current listeners take care of projects around the house. So, I decided to take it upon myself to have one of my own. For lack of a better name, we'll call it the Saturday Project.

The feature kicked off a couple weeks back w/some songs from Dylan's new Bootleg Series Volume 8. Last Saturday I played tunes from The Clash's just released, Live at Shea Stadium.

Today, to celebrate Chuck Berry's 82nd birthday, I put Chuck on my "To Do" list. I'll feature a few of Chuck's finest. There would be no Rock-N-Roll without him! Believe it was John Lennon who said, "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'"

Fabulous idea! I recall a Saturday not long ago when I was in the throes of wallpaper removal and you played The Sugar Hill Gang. Suddenly, glue in my hair did not seem so bad...Project or not, your efforts are appreciated. Keep up the good work!
