"My 3 Songs" for Wednesday

Posted at 3:03 PM on October 15, 2008 by Steve Seel (3 Comments)

Linnea Doyle of Mpls writes today: "My husband Patrick and I will be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary and these three songs were a very, very important part of our special day. I want to surprise him with a litte bit of radio love."

1) Mason Jennings, "Sorry Signs on Cash Machines"
2) U2, "Beautiful Day"
3) Ulrich Schnauss, "A Letter From Home"

"My two sisters and brother had Pat and I rewrite the lyrics to the Mason Jennings song, as a love letter to each other. They then played the 'new' song for us during our ceremony. As we walked down the aisle together at the end of the ceremony, 'Beautiful Day' was performed by a string quartet. And we could think of no other song that described our souls flying away as well as the floaty 'A Letter From Home,' which we danced to for our first dance ... it was like we were the only ones in the room. Happy 3rd anniversary to Patrick!"

Great story Linnea, and congratulations to you both!
