Vote for the Hall of Fame!

Posted at 5:50 PM on September 22, 2008 by Mark Wheat

Of course we cannot give you access to the real ballot, but on 4/4/08 in Cleveland 5 more acts will be added to The Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, which would you pick?;

Run-D.M.C. Metallica, The Stooges, Jeff Beck, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, War, Bobby Womack, and Chic, the only nominee back from last year's ballot. (My votes are in bold)

Mogwai were one of many acts playing at the big All Tomrrow's Parties gig in Monticello NY over the weekend, which featured the return of shoegazing legends, My Bloody Valentine. Unfortunately their drummer had a recurrence of a heart problem, his pacemaker got infected?!?! So they've cancelled the rest of the tour, including the show next week at First Avenue.

A couple of TV highlights for the week;

Monday, September 22:
Late Show With David Letterman: TV on the Radio
The Tonight Show With Jay Leno: My Morning Jacket

Tuesday, September 23:
Jimmy Kimmel Live!: Atmosphere
Late Show With David Letterman: Kings of Leon

If you'd rather watch a dvd about music, try 'Control' the dramatized version of the story of Joy Division's lead singer Ian Curtis. I only just saw it this weekend and was mightily impressed, especially when we watched the "making of..." in the extras. The actors who played the parts of the band all looked really good, i.e...like the characters really did then AND they sounded great! Apparently they played together to learn the parts and were planning on miming the live band scenes, but they got so good that they played themselves and sounded better than the original band did back in the day!
