Andy Slash writes today, "I recently made a mix of music from local artists for a complete stranger on a music message board. These are three of the tracks I chose for the playlist."
1) Daughters of the Sun, "Light As A Feather"
2) Atmosphere, "Smart Went Crazy"
3) Cloud Cult, "Washed Your Car"
See, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout. Two dependable local standbys, with a delicious frosting of something unexpected. Thanks Andy.

It keeps getting harder and harder to keep up with all the new releases and the various formats that they are released in! The Cure seem bent on making it as hard as possible!! The new album MIGHT be out in October but it's been delayed once already. All through the summer they put out a single a month, but they might not be on the album and now the new ep that they are remixed on is not making the band happy!
Rick Wright died over the weekend, of cancer at 65. He was the keyboard player with Pink Floyd. The quiet one who never seemed to get involved in the band politics that frustrated fans, but the composer of some of their highlights, like "Us & Them" the central piece from 'Dark Side of the Moon' that we played tonight to pay tribute. Here's one of his band mates paying his tribute. NPR's Robin Hilton remembers him too.
And now for something completely different...It obviously pays to be the shirt sponsor of the greatest football team on the planet. As Bob Collins reports, AIG is being bailed out by the Feds. As the NY Times discussed last weekend English Football is BIG business! Including this quote about the American owners of United; "Hence Glazer and his sons, who now run the team, quickly cut a $99 million, four-year deal with A.I.G. to sponsor the team's shirts"
