1949 - Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers) was born.
1961 - The Marvelettes released "Please Mr. Postman" the first Motown Record to top the charts.
1969 - Paul and Linda McCartney's daughter, Mary, was born.
1985 - INXS began their first headlining world tour.
1996 - Issac Hayes sent a protest letter to Bob Dole, asking him to stop using "Soul Man" a song he co-wrote, which supporters had dubbed "I'm A Dole Man."
