Just before I turned things over to Jade tonight, I played the latest single from Bloc Party, "Mercury". The song has been shaping up to be rather divisive on its own, but I mentioned on the air that it will appear on Bloc Party's as-yet-untitled third album, of which we have no details. For now, we have "Mercury" to enjoy. Immediately after my shift ended, I looked online to discover that not only does the new Bloc Party album have a title, track listing, and release date, the doggone thing is coming out in three days(!)
The new album, Intimacy, will be released digitally on Thursday and physically on October 27. All the details, plus pre-order information, is on Bloc Party's website; even more vitally, it has its own Wikipedia page, created today. Since I was the one who made the boo-boo in failing to mention the deets on the new album (my mind must have been in retrograde), I thought I should be the first to tell you here.
