I felt rather foolish a few weeks ago when I realized for the first time that the name of our "My Three Songs" feature was a play on words on the old TV show My Three Sons. I've been working for the Current for a whole two years now, you'd think I would have noticed it sooner.
Anyway, on to the matter at hand! Today's set was submitted by Katie Koppen from St. Paul. She says that these three songs feature three singers with "strong voices" that "pull [her] in".
1.) Kings of Leon - "On Call" (Caleb Followill)
2.) The Psychedelic Furs - "Pretty in Pink" (Richard Butler)
3.) Editors - "An End Has a Start" (Tom Smith)
Tom Smith, in particular, has quite the distinctive bellow. He's one of my favorite singers to imitate, along with Stars' Torquil Campbell. If they had an indie rock karaoke, I would have a lot of fun.
