Do the Shuffle

Let's give this a shot.

The Good, the Bad and the Queen - "Nature Springs"
This band doesn't have a name, of course (*wink wink*) but I still liked this album quite a bit. Kind of a blah song, but Danger Mouse adds just the right keyboard touches to make it memorable.

The dB's - "The Fight"
Since I wasn't around during their heyday, can someone answer this question for me: is it pronounced "dee-bees" or "decibels"? I was always under the impression it was the former.

XTC - "No Thugs in Our House"
I've been stuck in an XTC kick lately, so it's only appropriate I get this highlight from English Settlement. The sentiments about parental neglect still resonate.

Stevie Wonder - "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing"
I downloaded Innervisions a few weeks ago but haven't gotten the chance to listen yet.

The Beatles - "Doctor Robert"
I guess this turned out to be oldies week. Hopefully your shuffles will have more 21st-century material than I did.

We'll see if we can break the Oldies mode...

The Clash - Jail Guitar Doors
Oldie but a goodie. One of my favorite Clash songs

Tom Petty - You Wreck Me
At least we hit the 90's with this one. Favorite song from "Wildflowers" which is also one his best albums ever. I've been on a Tom Petty kick recently having just seen the Peter Bogdanovich documentary "Running Down A Dream"

Tata Pound - Badala
Afro-Pop Rap. That's about all I know about it.

LL Cool J - Goin' Back to Cali
Got this from a friend who did an 80's mix. Kickin' it Old Skool

The Baltimores - Cadillac Heaven
A favorite from the "Keepers Acapella" CD. This one is guaranteed to make you sing along. The Baltimores were also immortalized in a song "The Baltimores" by Jonathan Richman on his "Rockin' And Romance" album. which is sadly out of print. I have the vinyl, but really want to be able to convert it to MP3. It's one of his best albums ever.

Almost Like Being in Love -- Natalie Cole -- Unforgettable
You've got to have some standards in your collection---I think Natalie Cole brought a lot more swing to her Dad's songs which is just what this post-Boomer likes.

This Boy -- James Morrison-- Undiscovered
caught him on John Mayer/Ben Folds tour last summer--what an amazing voice.

Do the Do -- Howlin' Wolf -- The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions
Come ON, man---its the Wolf! With all the late-60's/early 70's Brit Rock Royalty: Clapton, Wyman, Watts, Winwood...a must have.

sissyneck -- Beck -- Odelay
what an amazing sense of groove this has...Beck is the very embodiment of cool.
