As I sit here writing this, I can hear the sweet sounds of Jack White's voice. The Raconteurs are rocking the main stage right now, and I just got done checking in with Mark Wheat on the airwaves. I'm hoping to wolf down a sandwich before I make my way to this evening's shows. I have a dilemma because M.I.A., Rilo Kiley and Willie Nelson are all playing at the same time, on different stages. Since I heard that M.I.A. has canceled her tour because she wants a break, I better get over to see her. That's if it's still on... the big rumor around here today was that she was canceling, but I think people have their facts mixed up! I think I'll split the time between M.I.A. and Willie Nelson! That sounds like a good compromise. I love you Rilo Kiley, but I'm guessing I'll be able to see you around the Twin Cities at some point in the future.
Tonight's main event is Metallica. I don't care how many people around here have an attitude about Metallica, I know it's going to be fun. I've never seen them, I think I'm going to like it. Chris Rock has the stage before they go on. Speaking of comedians, I'm going to see Zach Galifianakis at midnight in the comedy tent. You may remember him as the goofy bearded guy in the movie Out Cold. He's been in some music videos too. Most recently for Kanye West and he had a funny part in a Fiona Apple video a few years ago.
OK, I'm off to put on my comfy shoes and experience more of Bonnaroo!
Hi Jill!
I loved the What Made Milwaukee Famous Mark Wheat played after talking to you today! What was the name of it?
Thanks for all the great Bonnaroo updates!
What a great day! We faced the same M.I.A./Willie/Rilo Kiley dilemma as well. I figured I'd start at M.I.A and check out the end of Willie's set. The problem was once she took the stage I didn't want to leave. The crowd surfing cutouts were cool. Wish I knew who they were pictures of!
Did you catch any of the late night sets? Tiesto was sick as were MSTRKRFT and Disco Biscuits. I kept running back and forth between the two stages in the rain. By the time I got back to the tent I was soaked! It was a blast!
