After about a 15 hour roadtrip, I'm here at Bonnaroo! Here's what I learned from the drive... Illinois takes a very long time to drive through and there's not much to look at. Wisconsin radio is great for driving, I was able to get my classic rock and oldies fix. I'm not even kidding when I say, I heard the song "Turn the Page" by Bob Seger. The lyrics made me laugh so hard, I related with Mr. Seger last night! Actually, the drive was a fun experience. I never had to pay a toll before. That was kind of fun... haha. There's just something about this festival that makes it almost mandatory to drive to. No matter where in the country you're coming from.

When I pulled into Manchester this morning I could feel it was going to be a hot day. 90 degrees and humid isn't something that I've experienced for quite some time, but it wouldn't be a summer time festival without the heat! I've heard stories of people waiting in line for hours in their cars to get into the festival, and I was able to witness that today. The line of cars literally went for miles. The thing with Bonnaroo is most of the people camp, so it takes extra long to let everyone in. This 700 acre farm turns into a little city for the entire weekend. It's a cool vibe all ready.

The music kicks off in about an hour with What Made Milwaukee Famous, MGMT, Battles, Vampire Weekend and many others tonight. I'll give you an update later on tonight with the "deets". I'll check in with Mary Lucia again tomorrow afternoon and I'll broadcast live from the Bonnaroo radio studios on Saturday and Sunday from 1-5pm. Keep listening for exclusive live performances from backstage Bonnaroo!
